Land of Laws
It was the end of the age. Most people were gone from the earth leaving whole cities open for inhabitation by whoever. We found a community of people...a lot of people. For some reason we had to go to the hospital. It was there we realized the oppression of the people. One doctor was being held against his will until he figured out why so many women were having miscarriages. We also found out that every woman was required to have as many babies as possible to boost the population. I was put in a room with several women. On woman was pregnant but not in good shape. Her hair was covered in giant lice and scabs. She was beaten, bruised and dirty. I took her to the restroom and started cleaning her up. She was also here against her will. She told me her name was Derek, which that particular name was looked down on by the establishment. Her boyfriends name was Even (like odd and even, or I'll get even). His name was also wrong. They were going to name their baby, Baby, just to be subversive. There were a lot of things in this community that were illegal. I asked her why she stayed if it was so oppressive. She said there was no where else to go. I told her of all the places that were empty in the world and she could go live wherever she wanted. I let her finish cleaning up and went back into my room. There was a lady there who had just had a baby, it was crying (and also the size of a two year old). I asked her if she had tried to feed it. She said she had fed it 120cc at 5:00 and that was the law. I said she might want to try and feed it again, and she said she couldn't that would be illegal. I made a raspberry sound, like whatever, and she said not to do that because rude sounds were illegal too. I finally comforted the baby and got him to sleep. About that time a nurse came in and tried to take the baby from me. I asked her what she was doing and she said she needed to take him to the nursery. I said she would wake him and she said so what. I said it's illegal to wake a sleeping baby. Oh , she said and left. About that time Eythan came in dressed all funny and had cups on his hands and feet. He was trying to cheer up all the patients. On of the ladies in my room told him to stop, what he was doing was illegal. A nurse ran in and told him to get off the floor, it was illegal. I said that was probably a good idea though. Then a commotion began outside. Jon rand in and said we had to leave. Apparently while I was there, Jon had been telling people about he wide wide world too. Now there were buses waiting to take people to new places and start a new freer community. All the women in my room wanted to go, so I helped them pack up their babies and we ran to the buses. They were all full and leaving except the last one. We were running to get on the last bus.
