The Queen had gone, exiled.
The King came to me and said he had chosen me for the new Queen. With some trepidation I agreed, not knowing if I wanted the responsibility of rulership.
We took our vows before a priest and then the king informed me that he had 3 daughters. He had locked them in the tower for their well being and safety for their entire lives. He said we could not be truly married unless I found the tower and freed them.
As I followed the map in the darkness the exiled queen appeared. She stabbed the king and either killed him or wounded him greatly for I had the sense that the rulership now lay solely to me. The queen retreated to her exile urging me to find the daughters.
As I entered the tower chamber I found there two beautiful women. They greeted me with hugs and kisses. I asked where was the third sister. They smiled at me. I began to understand.
"Do you understand now?" one asked.
"I am your sister." I said.
"Yes. All of this was put into place before you were born. You have a double claim for the throne. You are heir, and you are bride."
Although I had not wanted to be Queen before, the significance of my double claim gave me the courage to accept my new role.
