Sewer

Christi had asked me to come over and help her get her sewer unclogged.  I brought our sewer snake but it was very small.  It was about the size of a tape measure.  The way her sewer system was set up there were two big cisterns.  There was access going both ways, to the house and away from the house in each cistern.  Only one of the cisterns was full of sewage.  Me and Charis along with Christi and Makenna were trying to get to the clog and not get dirty.  That of course was not possible and as I walked around in my flip flops my feet became saturated with the muck.  Christi finally decided she had to get into the cistern full of sewage.  It was a matter of fact thing for her.  What needs to be done is done attitude.  She climbed down into the cistern and began snaking it.  She met no resistance and the snake came up out of the other cistern. The clog was the other way.  So she began to snake it the other way.  Eventually the sewage began to drain and then as she removed more debris (mostly fast food soda cups and the such) a flood of clean clear water rushed through the pipes and the cistern.  What had clogged the pipes was a tennis shoe.  A completely clean white tennis shoe.  I asked Colom if he knew how it got in there and he made the point that there was no way a tennis shoe could go down any toilet or sink in the house.  We then all went inside to clean up trying not to get the muck in the house which was impossible.  All her boys and mine were upstairs playing.

In the dream our attempts seemed perfectly rational.  After waking and reviewing the dream I realized that the physics of the situation were all wrong.  We never actually snaked the section of pipe that would logically be blocked.  The cistern was full of sewage but the blockage was on the wrong side.  The blockage was on the incoming flow of water not the outflow of sewage.  The clearing out of the inflow somehow allowed the outflow of the sewage.
